A wind chime plays softly
the melody of memory
soaked in winter sun
Bright the contrast
between then and now
like the cardinal
in my pyrocanthia bush
The breeze behind the music
is cold against
the warmth of winter sun

I love the reds of the cardinals and the pyrocanthia, fiery reminders at this time of year that the Sun is even now returning!
